When a user purchases a file, Altnet processes the transaction based on their preferred payment method (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and deposits the funds into its Merchant Bank account for distribution to the media content supplier.

Altnet also processes requests for refunds, disputed charges and chargebacks as well as all Customer Service issues related to the billing process.

When a user first plays a given music or video file, a Digital Rights Management window appears. Altnet places CD cover art, an image of the band, etc., inside the DRM window to help promote and market the file.

Each file is wrapped in a secure digital rights 'wrapper' which allows it to be sold via the Altnet payment gateway, PeerPay™. This secure wrapper also allows Altnet to track and report all sales of the file.
